SECI Announces 1.5 GW Solar Tender

  • A single developer can bid for a cumulative contracted capacity of 50 MW to 750 MW in multiples of 10 MW
  • The selected bidders have to make projects on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis

Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI) has announced a tender. This tender is for 1.5 GW of interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected solar PV power projects in India.

The selected bidders have to make projects on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis. SECI shall enter into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the successful bidders.

Power procured by SECI from these projects has been provisioned to be sold to the different buying entities of India. A single developer can bid for a cumulative contracted capacity of 50 MW to 750 MW in multiples of 10 MW.

Potential bidders with existing or ongoing solar PV projects possessing unallocated capacity can participate in this Request for Proposal. These participants stand to gain an extended Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) term based on the period spanning from the actual power supply commencement date to the scheduled supply commencement date, as outlined in the tender document.

“Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd” (SECI) is a CPSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) to facilitate the implementation of the National Solar Mission (NSM) and the achievement of targets set therein. It is the only CPSU dedicated to the renewable energy sector. It was originally incorporated as a section-25 (not-for-profit) company under the Companies Act, 1956.
