Exclusive Partnership with Bhutan’s Top College Signals a Game-Changer in Semiconductor Training.

Cadence Design Systems has embarked on a transformative educational partnership with the College of Science and Technology (CST) at the Royal University of Bhutan. Announced, this alliance is designed to fortify VLSI design skills among students by integrating Cadence’s state-of-the-art electronic design automation (EDA) tools into CST’s curriculum. This strategic move not only bridges the industry-academic gap but also aims to nurture the semiconductor leaders of tomorrow in a region poised for technological advancements.

Under a three-year memorandum of understanding, Cadence will equip CST with advanced research and AWR Design Environment bundle licenses. This initiative is part of the broader Cadence University Program, which facilitates practical, hands-on learning experiences for students and faculty alike. By diving deep into VLSI design, participants can translate theoretical knowledge into real-world applications, preparing them for impactful careers in the electronics industry.

The collaboration extends beyond educational tools; it opens doors for internships and job placements, crucial for student development and professional growth. “By providing access to our cutting-edge EDA technologies, we aim to empower students and faculty to push the boundaries of VLSI design,” stated Ahuja, Cadence’s VP – International Headquarters and India Managing Director.

In alignment with industry needs, Cadence will also assist in refining the university’s course offerings to make them more industry-relevant, ensuring that the education provided aligns perfectly with modern technological demands. “Integrating Cadence’s cutting-edge EDA tools into our curriculum amplifies our commitment to providing students with a robust, industry-aligned educational journey,” said Dorji, Vice Chancellor of the Royal University of Bhutan.

This partnership is a part of a larger vision by Cadence to develop a significant talent pool within the electronics design sector globally. With similar initiatives already launched in other parts of the world, Cadence continues to influence the electronics industry by fostering innovation and practical skills among aspiring engineers. This strategic collaboration not only enhances the educational landscape in Bhutan but also contributes to the global electronics design industry’s growth and innovation.
