Servotech Power Systems Ltd. has recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Lloyd Institute of Engineering and Technology. The collaboration aims to drive research, education, training, and innovation in the field of electric vehicle (EV) technology and charging infrastructure. As part of this partnership, the company will establish a Research and Development (R&D) Lab and a Centre of Excellence dedicated to EV charging technology and infrastructure within the Lloyd Institute’s campus. This initiative is designed to promote practical experience and industry exposure for students by offering internship and job opportunities.
The company plans to set up and operate a charging station on the Institute campus. Equipped with a 14 kW EV charger suitable for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers, this station will provide free charging services to students and faculty. It will also be accessible to the general public and students from nearby institutions, fostering a sense of communal benefit and encouraging widespread EV adoption. The R&D centre’s goals include fostering innovation, raising awareness, sensitizing individuals to EV technology, and upskilling students according to industry requirements. It will offer training programs, organize seminars, and host workshops to share knowledge and insights in the field. The collaboration will bridge the gap between education and industry innovation.
Additionally, the establishment of the EV charging station will demonstrate the real-world application and accessibility of EV charging infrastructure, contributing to India’s goal of becoming a nation powered by electric vehicles.
