Socomec introduces the new 250 and 500 kW UPS to extend DELPHYS green power 2.0

Thursday, May 23, 2013: Socomec continues to set the pace with its comprehensive range of Green Power 2.0 UPS solutions. The company has announced the results of in depth research on technology and product development with its new groundbreaking, three phase Uninterruptible Power Supplies product. The 250 kW and 500 kW Green Power 2.0 units benefit from Socomec’s early investment in 3-Level IGBT technology.

With this technology the Green Power 2.0 reaches 96% efficiency in VFI mode (Voltage Frequency Independent). As a result, the Green Power 2.0 ranges comply with environmental protection standards, saving energy without compromising on performance and availability. Moreover, these performance levels have been endorsed by an independent body.

With its unity output power factor (PF=1) the new unit provides users with full-rated 500 kW power in accordance with IEC 62040-3, bringing total power capacity to an unmatched 4MW. This makes the new Green Power 2.0 the perfect solution for the most demanding data centre applications.

The new units are manufactured in France and benefit from Socomec’s recognised industrial lean manufacturing organisation, delivering exceptionally high production quality.

Denis Finck, Director of the Data Centre Market Segment explained “Our solutions, rated for applications up to 4 MW, will be a benchmark for meeting high availability, energy efficiency, and reduced floor space requirements, which are the new current and future challenges of medium and large data centres. Combined with a set of dedicated services and energy efficiency solutions, they are suited to co-location facilities or public clouds, as well as large data centres. These units, which are lighter and smaller and lose less heat, are also especially suitable as an integrated critical power solution with our containerised Smart PowerPort system.”

The new Green Power 2.0 range is also available with a new set of services resulting from Socomec’s long-standing experience in data centres with prestigious customers. Socomec has excellent field services and expert technical personnel close to customer premises.
