Solex plans to develop a 10-GW battery energy storage system (BESS) project
Solex Energy has recently announced a Rs 4,000 crore investment to set up an integrated solar cell manufacturing facility and a battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Gujarat.
The company has signed a deal with the Government of Gujarat to develop a large-scale advanced renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem in the state, with a proposed investment of around Rs 4,000 crore.
In this deal, the firm will build a 5-GW solar cell manufacturing facility to be developed in phases—2 GW in the first phase and an additional 3 GW in the second. It also has a plan to develop a 10-GW battery energy storage system (BESS) project.
The plan to create this combined manufacturing ecosystem will help Gujarat become a global clean-tech manufacturing hub. It will also create significant employment opportunities, boost industrial growth, and support India’s renewable energy goals.
“This MoU is not just an investment announcement; it reflects our commitment to India’s clean energy future,” said Chetan Shah, Chairman and Managing Director of Solex Energy.
