450 EV charging points have been set up across 350 national highways so far
India’s leading EV charging solution provider, Tata Power has launched a pioneering plan to set up electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the length and breadth of the country. The stations’ map will encompass Kashmir, Kanyakumari, Guwahati, Dwarka and Bikaner. The company aims to deliver these EV charging stations in the next 3-5 years. It says that EV owners can make use of the TATA Power EZ charge mobile app to locate the nearest charging stations on the go. Claiming that the app has been downloaded by more than one lakh people, the organisation asserts its contribution to the country’s e-mobility transition.
Tata Power recently launched a state-of-the-art Network Control Centre for real-time monitoring and maintenance of its pan-India EV charging points. It is noteworthy that the company has set up over 450 EV charging points across 350 national highways in the country, which span over 25 states and 5 Union territories.
For effective operational management of pan India charging points, Tata Power has also set up a state-of-the-art Network Operations Centre (NOC). This centre provides back-end system support and helps in the quick resolution of issues while ensuring proactive charging infrastructure maintenance planning. CEO & MD of Tata Power, Dr Praveer Sinha commented: “We are committed to promoting sustainable mobility in the country and are happy to set up more than 450 + EV charging points across our national highways. This marks our presence on 60% of the existing highways. We believe that India’s true EV transition will happen once we provide EV Charging solutions in not only cities and towns, but also across the major highways connecting states pan-India.”
