The transaction is expected to close in TE’s fiscal fourth quarter, ending September 2026
TE Connectivity has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the plastic solutions business unit for air and fluid connection systems of HENN Connector Group, a supplier of high-tech connection systems for the automotive industry.
The acquisition is aimed at expanding TE Connectivity’s technology portfolio and strengthening its capabilities in supporting next-generation electrified, software-defined and increasingly automated vehicles. The transaction is expected to close in TE’s fiscal fourth quarter, ending September 2026.
Following the acquisition, the expanded product portfolio will be integrated into TE Connectivity’s global offering under the HENN Fluid Line name. TE will also establish a new office in Dornbirn, Austria.
The acquired technologies include quick-connect solutions for fluid applications compliant with VDA and SAE standards, along with integrated assemblies combining electrical connectors with interfaces for water, air and coolant. These solutions are designed to consolidate vehicle functions, reduce installation space and simplify vehicle assembly.
The acquisition comes as automakers increasingly require integrated solutions for electrical power, data transmission and thermal management. In electrified vehicles, high-voltage batteries, electric drive systems, inverters, charging units and electronic control systems require efficient thermal management and reliable fluid connectivity.
The technologies will also support advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), where increasing sensor deployment is driving demand for integrated solutions for sensor supply and cleaning.
“By expanding our portfolio, we are strengthening our ability to combine electrical, data and fluid connectivity solutions into integrated systems,” said Matthias Lechner, Senior Vice President of Business Development, TE Connectivity.
HENN is known for its air and fluid connection technologies, including quick-connect couplings used in engine cooling and charge-air systems. According to HENN, the business unit will benefit from TE’s global platform, enabling international scaling and integration with electrical applications.
HENN Connector Group will continue to operate independently following the transaction and plans to focus further on premium metal coupling systems and non-mobility applications.
