Texas Instruments India announces start of TI MCU Design Contest 2014

texas-instrumentsWednesday, May 28, 2014: Texas Instruments (TI) India announces the commencement of the TI MCU Design Contest 2014 and is inviting engineers across India to push the boundaries of their technical knowledge. This contest is a national level design challenge for working professionals across India, where three teams stand to win a total of three Lakh rupees in prizes.

Following the success of the first MCU design contest, TI once again presents a platform to showcase all the top engineering projects across India that display innovation, design proficiency and technical adeptness. The contest will run in three different phases that involves contestants developing designs that utilize TI’s microcontrollers – MSP430, C2000, TIVA or Hercules.

Seetharaman Devendran – General Manager – Microcontrollers, Texas Instruments (India) said, “Our broad range of microcontrollers powers a number of applications including designs for automotive, industrial, internet of things, energy harvesting that are greener, faster, safer and more fun. We look forward to seeing how the participants leverage the features of TI’s microcontrollers to create innovative projects that can shape the future of electronics.”

Phase I: The contest begins on May 23rd 2014, across India. Participants are required to submit the project proposal by July 22nd 2014. Every design must include one TI microcontroller (MSP430®, C2000®, TIVA®, Hercules® platforms)

Phase II: 50 teams will be selected from the proposals that are received. These participants will need to submit the final report along with a video link demonstrating the project.

Phase III: From the 50 teams, the top 10 projects will be selected to compete amongst themselves in the final round. The top 10 contestants will also get an opportunity to display their work at TI on 23rd November 2014.
