Eyeing to speed up deliveries across Europe with automation, Texas Instruments opens a 9,000 sqm hub in Germany, providing same-day service and 20+ currency options to save on fees.
Texas Instruments (TI) has opened a new 9000-square-metre semiconductor product distribution centre in Dreieich, Germany, located on the fringes of Frankfurt, to accelerate delivery times to European customers.
According to the company, the facility is equipped with advanced automation to process up to 7500 daily orders. It has been designed to improve service efficiency, offering same-day delivery to central Germany and next-day delivery to most European countries.
TI also considers the new distribution centre’s location near its industrial and automotive customers and the Frankfurt Airport to help ensure faster shipments. The fully automated pick, pack, and ship process will allow orders to be ready for dispatch in 15 minutes or less.
Additionally, this expanded European footprint will also enable TI to offer more flexible purchasing options. Customers can select from more than 20 currencies, including the euro, pound sterling, and Swiss franc, thus saving on exchange fees.
Emphasising that this new facility will meet both current and future semiconductor demand, Stefan Bruder, president of Texas Instruments Europe, noted, “Our new centre in Dreieich is the latest addition to TI’s global product distribution network, which, combined with our convenient purchasing options, provides an improved customer experience from product selection to shipment.”
TI’s global network includes semiconductor manufacturing in Freising, Germany, as well as research and development teams and over 30 sales offices across 18 European countries.
