UNO Minda Introduces 1080p DVR 2.0 With ADAS For Better Driver Safety

UNO Minda has launched the Car DVR 2.0 in India’s aftermarket, featuring 1080p resolution, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and real-time alerts. This device is intended to help drivers evade road hazards and enhance driving safety overall.

Road safety remains a significant concern in India, as it is marked by high traffic accident rates due to reckless driving and inadequate traffic regulation awareness. In response, the Indian government has rolled out initiatives such as AI-powered cameras to monitor behaviours like lane drifting and distracted driving. With safety technology’s market demand expected to exceed USD 200 billion by 2033, DVRs equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are increasingly recognised as crucial for preventing accidents and ensuring safer roads. These devices alert drivers to potential dangers like lane departures, vehicle proximity, and speed in real time.

Uno Minda, a Tier 1 provider of automotive solutions to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), has introduced the Car DVR 2.0 with Level 2 ADAS features and 1080p resolution in the Indian aftermarket. This new DVR enhances driver safety by offering real-time alerts and monitoring to lower accident risks.

Rakesh Kher, CEO of Uno Minda’s Aftermarket Division, stated that Uno Minda prioritises technology-driven products in the aftermarket to enhance road safety. The DVR 2.0 offers features such as Lane Departure Warning and Forward Vehicle Too Close Alert to help drivers manage potential hazards.

The Uno Minda DVR 2.0 includes a high-resolution 1080p lens that captures clear details and supports expandable storage with SD cards up to 128 GB, ensuring ample recording capacity. It operates on just 0.2 watts, minimally impacting vehicle battery life. The DVR features a 170-degree wide-angle lens for an expansive view, loop recording that overwrites old footage for continuous storage, and USB connectivity to Android infotainment systems with a preloaded dedicated app for displaying vital driving information.

Made of metal and ABS, the DVR 2.0 is durable and IP67-rated for resistance to dust and water. It is available at top online and offline retailers for Rs. 8,999 and comes with a one-year warranty.
