US Based Sandeep Kumar To Join L&T Semiconductor As CEO

Previously we had reported that Spark Minda’s Sanjay Gupta had joined L&T Semiconductor Technologies as Chief Development Officer and Global Head of the company’s latest venture

Texas, United States-based Sandeep Kumar is joining Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Semiconductor Technologies as CEO, Electronics For You leaned from sources. While Kumar’s base will be here in India, his role will include extensive travel to develop L&T prowess and business in the semiconductor design arena.

Previously we had reported that Spark Minda’s Sanjay Gupta had joined L&T Semiconductor Technologies as Chief Development Officer and Global Head of the company’s latest venture.

Kumar is presently associated with Global Ascent Partners and Kizki Japan Accelerator Fund as Managing Partner. He is also an Executive Director at DiscoverSTEAM foundation, Board Member at RFLocus Inc; Chairman, Investor, and Board Member at SENSCO; General Partner at Tech Ranch Austin.

He started his professional innings as GM at Texas Instruments in 1986. He was then a Venture Partner at Crimson Ventures from 2001 to 2003 before moving on to the position of Co-founder, President & CEO at Adimos. He was also associated with JVP as the company’s Executive Advisor from 2001 to 2006, and was President & CEO at Anthron Inc from 2005 to 2006.

Microstaq, a Fabless IC company, gave him the responsibility of President & CEO, Board Member from 2006 to 2011. He has also been Chairman & Co-founder of Mogmo Inc from 2007 to 2012.

L&T has last year announced that it was investing Rs 830 crore to establish a semiconductor design company. JD Patil, Advisor to chairman and managing director, L&T, had said recently while speaking at the Maharashtra MSME Defence Expo, had said that the company was building a team for L&T Semiconductor Technologies.
