Waaree Energies Provides Solar Modules To Gensol Engineering

The solar PV manufacturer revealed their delivery of 68 MW advanced modules to the Ahmedabad-based construction company.

On Tuesday, Waaree Energies announced its collaboration with Gensol Engineering. In March of this year, it supplied Gensol with 68 MW of its Bi-55 bifacial dual glass-framed solar modules. These panels have charging facilities on both sides and are now being commissioned for the Mahagenco Solar PV Project.

These modules have been engineered with a focus on enduring durability and consistent performance, making them fit for expansive solar initiatives. Their design optimises sunlight absorption from both front and rear surfaces, thus maximising energy generation potential.

The implementation of Waaree’s bifacial modules is geared towards augmenting the energy yield of the Mahagenco project and bolstering the region’s overall renewable energy capacity. To date, Mahagenco, affiliated with Maharashtra State Power Generation Co. Limited, has commissioned 130 MWp solar power projects to fulfil the renewable power obligation of distribution companies in the state of Maharashtra.

Through this project, Mahagenco aims to harness the benefits of advanced solar technology. Additionally, it signifies a step towards fostering a greener and more environmentally-conscious energy landscape in the region.

The company, too, believes that their Bi-55 modules will play a ‘pivotal’ role in the project.

Hitesh Chimanlal Doshi, Chairman and Managing Director of Waaree Energies Limited, emphasised that initiatives are vital for India’s renewable energy and sustainable future goals. As per his official statement, this collaboration with Gensol Engineering will cut carbon emissions, boost economic growth, and create jobs in the renewable energy sector.

Established in 1990, Waaree Energies Limited (WEL) is a solar PV module manufacturer in the Indian Renewable Energy market. As of June 30, 2023, it had a large installed capacity of 12 GW. Since 2007, WEL has focused on affordable energy solutions and reduced carbon emissions. Headquartered in Mumbai, it currently claims to have four manufacturing units in India and a global footprint.
