The decision by Waaree comes even after a 15 per cent decline in consolidated net profit of the company in the September quarter of FY27.
Waaree Energies Ltd. is looking to enter the data centre business with the company’s board approving acquisition of 100 per cent shares in Waaree Green Data Centres Pvt Ltd. The decision by the board comes even after a 15 per cent decline in consolidated net profit of the company in the September quarter of FY27.
The acquisition comes as Waaree Energies aims to expand from its core photovoltaic business into edge data centres and hyperscale artificial intelligence sectors. Waaree Green Data centres, a subsidiary of Waaree Renewable Technologies has, in turn, two subsidiaries Aurovault Data Centres Pvt Ltd, and Sunstar Data Centres.
Waaree Green Data Centres was incorporated in August 2024, while Aurovault Data Centres, and Sunstar Data Centres were incorporated in September 2026. The three companies are yet to commence operations, according to the regulatory filing by Waaree Energies.
While the consolidated profit of the company in Q2 FY27 declined by 15 percent, the revenue from operations rose by 24 percent year-on-year, with revenue from photovoltaic business rising 22 per cent.
The acquisition, which will be undertaken in cash consideration of ₹1 lakh for 10000 equity shares with a face value of ₹10 each, is a related party transaction in the ordinary course of business on an arm’s length basis.
