Wi-Fi 7, Your Next Platform In Wireless Experience with 320 MHz Channels

World’s first cross-vendor Wi-Fi 7 demonstration done by Intel and Broadcom.

Wi-Fi 7, the wireless future, showcased over-the-air speed greater than 5 gigabits per second. This trial run had an Intel Core processor-based laptop with a Wi-Fi 7 solution connected to a Broadcom Wi-Fi 7 access point.

For the next 10 years, Wi-Fi 7 would be the platform for a wireless experience. For devices requiring higher speeds and lower latency, Wi-Fi 7 offers wider 320 MHz channels in unlicensed 6GHz spectrum and higher order 4K QAM data modulation. It improves reliability and increases capacity with its simultaneous connections across multiple bands and improved channel utilization efficiency. This would ensure broadband subscribers get the complete value from multi-gigabit internet plans.

This interoperability testing was showcased on 8th September 2022, on the Intel Newsroom channel on Youtube. Enabling the development of product utilisation in the test beds for official Wi-Fi Alliance certification testing; the companies would continue to show the additional capabilities of Wi-Fi 7.
