Xiaomi enters India’s smart lighting market with its lighting solutions firm, Yeelight to expand its network and kickstart a healthy competition

Yeelight, smart lighting solutions wing of Xiaomi has announced about its entry into the Indian market by launching a smart lamp, smart bulbs and a light strip that can be controlled by smart devices like smartphones. Priced in the range of Rs. 2000-10,000, the products are made available on the e-commerce platform, Amazon initially and later it will be out in the retail outlets.
Eric Jiang, Yeelight Founder and CEO expressed his delight in the company’s new venture in India. He informed that Yeelight would cater to smart lighting requirements at a valued price in association with its India partner, PR Innovations. Launched in 2014, the lighting wing has a presence in more than 100 countries.
Yeelight launches
Yeelights smart bulbs have a starting price of Rs. 2449. Its new Aurora Lightstrip Plus comes at Rs. 3,999. With these products, besides the Candela Lamp and smart LED bulb range, it has officially entered the Indian smart lighting segment.
Xiaomi’s smart lights are claimed to be compatible with smartphones. One can also enjoy the experience of Google assistant, Amazon Alexa that is equipped in these lights. Yeelight has also added Wi-fi support, adjustable colour and brightness technology in its smart lights range.
Talking about the growth of smart products in India, the Yeelight CEO said that the company wanted to kickstart a healthy competition in the smart segment of the country.
