Xilinx is targeting to increase its business by 20 per cent and a revenue generation of $3 billion by March 2019 with its new launch
US-based technology solutions provider, Xilinx is planning to grow in India with its new computing product, Adaptive Computer Acceleration Platform (ACAP) – Versal and accelerator cards – Alveo. The company is eyeing the communication and data centres besides catering to aerospace and public sector undertakings.
New launch
Victor Peng, president and CEO, Xilinx said that the company would work on technologies for 5G services and Alveo would aid in expanding to the data centre space as well. The new computing product is said to increase performance in industry-standard servers across cloud and on-premise data centres. It would further support applications like real-time machine learning inference as well as video processing, genomics and data analytics.The company is in talks with Tier II data centres, enterprises and banks to deploy the new launch.
Xilinx in India
Xilinx has its biggest research and development (R&D) centre in Hyderabad which mainly provides technology solutions for telecom, aerospace and public sector undertakings. It has been witnessing about a four-fold increase in its business and the aim is to maintain the growth in the country. Around 1,000 employees are housed at this centre and the company has been looking to increase its staff strength as well as the revenue.
Globally, Xilinx has around 4,000 employees and a revenue of $2.5 billion in the financial year 2017-18. It aims to reach a 20 per cent growth with a revenue of $3 billion by March 2019 with the expansion of its India operations.
