As per a report by the Economic Times, global auto component manufacturer ZF has expanded its manufacturing capabilities for Advanced Driver Assist Systems technologies with the launch of its new electronics plant in Częstochowa, Poland. It added that the Częstochowa facility is ZF’s first ‘greenfield’ automotive electronics site in Eastern Europe. A company release said that it produces advanced electronic components for light vehicles including S-Cam 4.8 cameras which are monocular cameras offering a 100-degree horizontal field of view. It will supply advanced forward.
ZF has plans to expand and hire more people
The report added that the plant is spread over 12,000 sqm and includes production halls, offices, meeting rooms, test areas and warehousing of materials. At present, 100 employees have initiated serial production of the company’s S-Cam4.8 cameras at the new facility. ZF has plans to expand and hire more people as per the report.
Krzysztof Gablankowski, director of the electronics plant, said that the foundation for the establishment of this state-of-the-art facility, ZF Electronics Engineering Center in Częstochowa, was laid two years ago. ZF has been operating in Częstochowa for over 30 years. It has three manufacturing facilities (airbag, seat belt, and electronics) and engineering centres focused on designing, developing and testing automotive safety systems.
