Technologies in the car industry are rapidly developing, and electronic parts are indispensable in most of them e.g. sensing in self-driving and IoT to connect things and Internet. However, certain usage conditions may cause malfunction of these electronics, and once such a malfunction occurs, it could lead to fatal accidents. EIMFLEX, our polyurethane resin products for electric insulation, can secure safety of automobile technologies by preventing malfunctioning of electronics.
EIMFLEX has already been used in many cases to protect electronics, such as electronic
control units (ECUs) in cars, sensors, and printed circuit boards (PCBs) in home appliances,
from every external factor including moisture, dust, and static electricity (see Figure 1).
EIMFLEX also works to prevent fire spreading in batteries. Recently, Lithium-ion batteries are used everywhere around us, but they may catch fire and result in serious accidents when they are broken or treated in a wrong way. When multiple batteries are connected, if one cell catches fire, it can easily spread to adjacent cells and total fire is likely to be bigger. We recommend EIMFLEX for enhancing safety of batteries by preventing fire from spreading to adjacent cells (see Figure 2).
