The Commerce Minister also stressed the growth potential of India in the oil and gas industry.
At the ‘India-Malaysia CEO Forum’ central Minister for Industry and Commerce, Piyush Goyal stressed on the imperativeness of solidifying the trade relationships between the two countries. The forum addressed by the Minister highlighted the crucial areas where collaborations can be done seamlessly.
The CEO Forum presented a dais for top business leaders from both the nations to explore more opportunities and discuss key strategies to bolster the growth. Minister Goyal said, “India and Malaysia must explore deeper collaboration in several sectors to strengthen our partnership. Growing together is our mantra. We hope the business persons on both sides will have an engaging discussion and we can grow together both in trade, tourism, Technology, investments in all these areas, let us look at growing together.”
Apart from this, the Commerce Minister also stressed the growth potential of India in the oil and gas industry. Leading Malaysian companies are invited by the government to invest and start their operations in these sectors. Goyal further added that the government has been undertaking a lot of initiatives to boost these sectors, thereby crafting numerous prospects for the global companies.
“India is also opening up much more to oil and gas drilling, Malaysia should look at capturing some of those auctions and tenders and opportunities in India. Our educational institutions can do a lot of good work, MRAs (Mutual Recognition Agreements) will be the way forward for greater engagement and support to each other’s industries.”
Moreover, the electronics industry has also been highlighted as an important sector where India has the huge potential to benefit from Malaysia. There will be a lot of partnerships between the MSMEs from both the countries.
