Emobi Unveils AKX E2W: EV Solution For B2B Fleets

It charges completely in just 30 minutes using the proprietary fast chargers, offering a range of up to 75 km per charge with the LFP variant and up to 120 km per charge with the NMC variant.

Emobi has introduced its new Made-in-India electric two-wheeler, the AKX Commuter. The Bengaluru-based EV2W start-up also unveiled the AKX LS, a low-speed variant designed for micro-mobility, targeting the 30% of last-mile delivery riders who may lack the necessary license to operate high-speed vehicles.

This model comes with a powerful Li-ion battery pack, adhering to top industry standards in smart battery management and safety. It offers two chemistry options: 1.5 kWh with LFP and 2.3 kWh with NMC. The battery can be fully charged in just 30 minutes using proprietary fast chargers, with the LFP version providing up to 75 km of range and the NMC version delivering up to 120 km on a single charge.

The AKX features a custom-designed motor optimized for low-speed operations, ensuring high efficiency while meeting regulatory requirements. Its performance and durability make it an ideal choice for quick-commerce deliveries.

A key highlight of the AKX is its fast-charging system, allowing operators to recharge the battery in half an hour, enhancing operational efficiency by minimizing downtime between tasks.

Emobi has partnered with Livaah Innovations to integrate the AKX battery with Livaah’s solar hybrid inverters. This collaboration enables Livaah customers to use the AKX battery for both fast charging and as backup power during outages, offering dual functionality. While Livaah promotes these dual-use vehicles and batteries to the B2C market, Emobi remains focused on B2B operations, primarily serving the last-mile delivery sector.

The Indian B2B market for electric vehicles is on the brink of rapid growth, though many offerings in this segment prioritize cost over performance due to the complexities involved in developing high-performing EVs. This has made it challenging for businesses, especially bike taxi operators, to encourage riders to switch from traditional ICE vehicles to electric alternatives.

Emobi’s swappable battery system provides a reliable transportation solution while enabling customers to use the same batteries for home power needs. Advanced features such as geo-fencing, live tracking, and vehicle immobilization further support fleet managers in securely managing their vehicles. Bharath Rao, Founder and CEO of Emobi, emphasized the importance of these capabilities in meeting the evolving needs of the market.
