Wipro, FORVIA Partner To Boost Advanced Driver Assistance Systems

Wipro’s Cloud Car Solution components help FORVIA enhance ADAS applications by optimising them, minimising reliance on hardware, and boosting safety features through a cloud-native architecture.

Wipro is a leading global technology services and consulting company which has recently joined forces with FORVIA, ranked as the seventh-largest automotive technology supplier globally, to enhance FORVIA’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) applications.

In this collaborative effort, FORVIA has harnessed elements from Wipro Engineering Edge’s Cloud Car Solution, such as microservices and vehicle container architecture, to improve its vehicle safety and comfort applications. These enhancements have made FORVIA’s ADAS applications more hardware-independent, reduced maintenance costs, and facilitated seamless integration with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) using a cloud-native framework.

A key component of the initiative involved integrating FORVIA’s surround-view technology, which combines external camera feeds into a unified 3D perspective. This integration provides drivers with a superior view that aids in safer and more efficient parking manoeuvres. Additionally, transitioning to a microservices-based architecture has simplified FORVIA’s software development process, allowing the company to independently offer individual ADAS features and integrate these with other ADAS systems from various providers.

Graziella Neuvéglise, Regional Head & Managing Director for Southern Europe at Wipro Limited, expressed pride in the success of their partnership. She highlighted the project’s role in demonstrating their expertise in the Software Defined Vehicle sector. Through collaboration with leaders in the automotive industry, they aim to advance safety and entertainment features using principles of cloud-native engineering. She expressed enthusiasm for continuing the collaborative work with FORVIA.

She explained that embracing microservices and container architecture is a strategic choice aimed at providing competitive and easily integrated functions for their clients. This partnership with Wipro illustrates their shared vision and collective expertise in automotive software solutions.
