ROHM’s EcoSiC Technology Enhances COSEL’s Power Supplies

This collaboration highlights the rising demand for sustainable, high-performance industrial power solutions in an evolving energy landscape.

ROHM has announced that its EcoSiC Silicon Carbide (SiC) power devices have been integrated into COSEL’s latest HFA and HCA series of 3.5kW AC-DC power supply units. This partnership underscores the growing adoption of SiC technology in high-performance power supply applications, thanks to its superior efficiency and reliability. The HFA/HCA series are designed to deliver high output power with minimal energy loss, catering to the demands of industrial equipment, telecommunications, and data centers. The company’s EcoSiC devices have been specifically chosen to enhance the power supply units’ energy efficiency, reduce thermal dissipation, and enable a more compact and lightweight design.

Silicon Carbide, known for its high thermal conductivity and superior switching capabilities, plays a pivotal role in improving the performance of modern power systems. EcoSiC technology is at the forefront of this evolution, offering reduced power consumption and enhanced thermal management compared to conventional silicon-based solutions. These advantages are crucial for industries striving to meet stringent energy regulations while optimizing operational costs. By incorporating EcoSiCtechnology, COSEL’s new power supply units achieve improved power conversion efficiency, reduced size, and enhanced durability, making them ideal for applications requiring consistent and reliable performance.

This collaboration not only strengthens the market position of both companies but also highlights the increasing demand for sustainable and energy-efficient power solutions. The adoption of EcoSiC technology in HFA/HCA series reflects a significant step toward the widespread adoption of Silicon Carbide-based solutions in industrial power systems. It underscores the alignment of technological innovation with market demands for higher efficiency, smaller form factors, and greener energy consumptionThis development further positions ROHM as a key player in driving advancements in power semiconductors, while COSEL continues to solidify its reputation for delivering cutting-edge power supply solutions.
