Certification Achieved For Automotive Cybersecurity Compliance

Infineon Technologies AG has received ISO/SAE 21434 certification for its AURIX™ TC4Dx microcontroller. TÜV SGS granted this certification, confirming compliance with cybersecurity standards and ensuring secured development processes throughout a vehicle’s lifecycle. Infineon is also working toward certification for its AURIX TC3x microcontroller family to support compliance with global regulations such as UN R155.

“With AURIX TC4Dx product compliance, customers can enhance their ISO/SAE 21434 related ECU portfolios,” said Thomas Böhm, Senior Vice President Automotive Microcontrollers at Infineon. “This will ultimately allow them to bring their products to market more quickly and more efficiently.”

The certification for AURIX TC4Dx includes cybersecurity management to oversee security processes, continuous activities such as monitoring, risk assessment, and vulnerability analysis, and structured risk assessment methods to identify security risks. It covers the concept phase, where cybersecurity goals are defined, and the product development phase, ensuring secured integration and verification. The post-development phase includes cybersecurity incident response mechanisms to address potential vulnerabilities after deployment.

Infineon’s pursuit of certification for the AURIX TC3x microcontroller family reinforces its commitment to cybersecurity across the automotive supply chain. By ensuring compliance from design to end-of-life, Infineon helps manufacturers navigate evolving regulations and implement robust security measures.
