Tata Power Crosses 1.5 Lakh Rooftop Solar Installations

With a total 3 GW capacity and operations in 700+ cities, the company is driving large-scale solar adoption under government initiatives like PMSGY. 

Tata Power has reached a significant milestone by completing over 1,50,000 rooftop solar installations across India, reinforcing its position as the country’s No. 1 rooftop solar provider. The company’s total rooftop solar capacity has now touched 3 GW, playing a pivotal role in India’s clean energy transition.

Operating in 700+ cities, the company’s Solaroof solutions offer customers up to 80% savings on electricity bills, a 25-year module warranty, and a payback period of 4-7 years. These solar systems also shield users from annual power tariff hikes of 3-5%.

As part of its commitment to expanding rooftop solar adoption, the company is a key player in the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGY) and is driving installations through its ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ initiative. The company manufactures ALMM-certified solar panels at its Tamil Nadu facility, ensuring high-quality, locally-produced modules.

To make solar energy more accessible, the company has partnered with 20+ financial institutions, including public and private sector banks, offering seamless financing options. It also boasts a 575+ channel partner network across 300+ cities and is supported by 225+ authorized service partners in 400+ cities, ensuring nationwide service availability.

With a customer base exceeding 1,50,000, including 1,22,000 residential users, the company has emerged as the preferred solar partner for homeowners, businesses, and industries. The company has also leveraged cultural events like Kumbh Mela, Chhath Puja, and Makar Sankranti to promote solar awareness through initiatives such as ‘Aapki Roof, Aapki Takat’, encouraging homeowners to turn their rooftops into energy-generating assets. The company has 4.3 GW cell and module manufacturing capacity, reinforcing its role in accelerating India’s renewable energy transformation.
