To drive semiconductor innovation, featuring startups, VCs, and cutting-edge tech advancements, MeitY, IISc, and IITs is set to host Nano Electronics Roadshow in Bengaluru on Thursday.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with IISc Bengaluru and several IITs (Bombay, Madras, Delhi, Guwahati, and Kharagpur), is set to host the Nano Electronics Roadshow and Conference on the Semiconductor Ecosystem in India on March 27, 2025.
The event will take place at the National Science Seminar Complex in IISc Bengaluru, beginning at 9:00 AM IST. The event will be inaugurated by MeitY Secretary Shri S. Krishnan, with dignitaries such as Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, MeitY, and leaders from the industry and research sectors also in attendance.
According to the ministry, this initiative is designed to unite key stakeholders from government, industry, academia, startups, and the venture capital (VC) community, fostering collaboration and innovation in the semiconductor and nanoelectronics sectors.
The conference will cover a range of cutting-edge topics, including quantum technology, neuromorphic computing, and AI advancements. It will also highlight India’s progress in nanoelectronics, showcasing indigenous technologies and innovations.
Over 50 technology demonstrations will take place, with participation from 25 deep-tech startups and 25 VC firms, alongside 25 industries active in the semiconductor space.
Shri Krishnan remarked that the roadshow is a crucial step in India’s journey towards semiconductor self-sufficiency. He noted that MeitY has established Nano science centres at six IITs and IISc to foster the development of dedicated teams in the semiconductor field. The event will showcase these centres and provide a platform for startups to pitch their innovations to investors.
MeitY further highlighted that this is in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of a self-reliant India under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM).
