Nvidia, Foxconn Partner To Launch AI Supercomputer Factory In Taiwan

Powering the future of AI, a groundbreaking supercomputer is coming to Taiwan, as Nvidia, Foxconn, and the government join forces to drive innovation.

Nvidia and Foxconn have announced a major partnership to develop a world-class AI supercomputer in Taiwan, aiming to accelerate artificial intelligence research and industrial innovation across the region.

The project, backed by Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), will see Foxconn’s subsidiary, Big Innovation Company, deliver the infrastructure as an official Nvidia Cloud Partner. The AI supercomputer will be powered by 10,000 of Nvidia’s latest Blackwell GPUs, providing high-performance computing capacity to support startups, research institutions, and large enterprises.

NSTC will manage the deployment of the system, offering AI cloud services that will fuel advancements in science, industry, and everyday applications. This initiative is part of a broader government vision to transform Taiwan into a leading AI innovation hub.

Semiconductor leader TSMC is among the early adopters of the platform. The company plans to use the supercomputer to significantly enhance its R&D capabilities, gaining performance leaps far beyond previous-generation systems.

“AI has sparked a new industrial revolution,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia. “Together with Foxconn and Taiwan, we are building the digital infrastructure needed for the AI era — supporting innovation in science, robotics and industry.”

The AI factory will feature Nvidia’s GB300 NVL72 rack-scale solution, integrated with NVLink, Quantum InfiniBand, and Spectrum-X networking technologies for ultra-fast data processing.

Big Innovation Cloud will also join the Nvidia DGX Cloud Lepton marketplace, providing wider access to advanced GPU computing for developers and enterprises in Taiwan. The system will also support Nvidia’s ‘Inception and Deep Learning Institute’ programmes.

Foxconn Chairman and CEO Young Liu described the supercomputer as a foundation for Taiwan’s AI-powered future. “We are developing infrastructure that will drive the next generation of breakthroughs across smart cities, electric vehicles, and manufacturing,” he said.

TSMC CEO Dr. C.C. Wei added that the platform will help fast-track semiconductor innovation, reinforcing the company’s global leadership in advanced chip design and production.

NSTC Minister Wu Cheng-Wen outlined the government’s ambition to build a smart AI island. “We are investing in research, growing the AI industry, and supporting the development of smart cities,” he said. 

Beyond research, Foxconn will use the supercomputer to boost AI applications in its core areas — optimising smart infrastructure, enhancing vehicle safety systems, and streamlining manufacturing processes through automation and digital twin technologies.
