Delta Electronics Commits To 12-Year Wind Power Pact In Tamil Nadu

Cutting its carbon footprint in Tamil Nadu, Delta Electronics India is to source 9.6 million units of wind power annually with its recent long-term PPA with Ventus Energy.

Delta Electronics India has entered a 12-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Ventus Energy Consultancy to source 9.6 million units of wind power annually. This renewable energy will power its manufacturing facilities in Tamil Nadu, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and lowering carbon emissions by nearly 7000 metric tonnes each year.

The electricity will come from wind farms in Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, and Tiruppur districts, supplied through the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO).

According to the company, the agreement supports India’s ambition to reach 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based power capacity by 2030 and promotes a shift towards decentralised, sustainable energy systems.

Mr Niranjan Nayak, Managing Director of Delta Electronics India, emphasised the strategic importance of the deal. He stated, “Sustainability is central to Delta’s purpose. These PPAs are more than transactions—they are part of a long-term strategy to decarbonise our operations and contribute meaningfully to India’s green transition. They also reaffirm our commitments under global frameworks like RE100 and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).”
