Weller Marks 80 Years With Special Product Releases

Weller is set to roll out anniversary editions globally via element14, Farnell, and Newark.

Weller Tools has announced two limited-edition product releases to commemorate its 80th anniversary: the WE1010 Black Edition soldering station and the ZeroSmog Shield fume extraction system.

Established in 1945 near Stuttgart, Germany, Weller is recognised for its soldering and fume management solutions, which are widely used in electronics, R&D, and education.

The WE1010 Black Edition offers the same core features as the original model, including a 70W soldering iron, an ergonomic handle, tool-free tip changes, an ESD-safe design, standby mode, and a password-protected reset. It also includes a heat-resistant silicone cable. The new black finish and anniversary logo reference Weller’s early designs, which used black Bakelite before ESD-safe plastics became standard.

The ZeroSmog Shield is designed for low-intensity fume extraction applications. It comes with an EPA E10 filter and a built-in work light that highlights the optimal extraction zone. Suitable for labs and classrooms, the unit operates at around 50 dB and supports compact, stackable placement for limited workspaces.

Andrew Weatherill, Vice President of Global Product at element14, stated, “Weller Tools has established itself as the go-to brand in hand soldering, rework, and fume extraction. For many decades, they have been at the forefront of these fields, and we are excited to continue supporting their innovative concepts and tangible outcomes in the years ahead.”

Weller Tools Senior Director, Marcel Teller, resonated with element14’s perspective, stating, “As Weller commemorates 80 years of pioneering achievements in soldering, we continue to challenge the limits of innovation. The launch of the exclusive black edition WE1010 and ZeroSmog Shield pays homage to our legacy and showcases our unwavering commitment to the future of soldering technology.”

Both products are now available via Farnell in EMEA, element14 in APAC, and Newark in North America. The company’s 80th anniversary celebrations will run through the remainder of 2025.
