ILJIN Electronics Secures ₹12 Billion From ChrysCapital And InCred To Scale EMS Manufacturing

ILJIN Electronics (India) Pvt Ltd raises ₹12 billion to expand production, boost tech capabilities, and acquire key EMS players, supporting India’s push to cut electronics imports.

ILJIN Electronics (India) Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Amber Group, has raised ₹1,200 crore in a strategic fundraise to scale manufacturing, strengthen technology capabilities, and drive acquisitions in India’s electronics manufacturing services (EMS) sector. ChrysCapital contributed ₹11 billion, while InCred Growth Partners invested ₹1 billion via equity and compulsory convertible preference shares, pending regulatory approvals.

The fresh capital will enable ILJIN to expand its production scale and support targeted acquisitions, including recent moves such as Power-One Micro Systems and a stake in Israel-based Unitronics plc. The company manufactures bare PCBs and PCB assemblies for consumer durables, automotive, telecom, healthcare, aerospace, defence, and renewable energy sectors. It also offers box-build solutions, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV chargers, UPS systems, and solar inverters.

ILJIN has posted strong growth, recording ₹21.94 billion in revenue and ₹1.51 billion in operating EBITDA for FY25, with a 52% revenue CAGR between FY22 and FY25. Its parent, Amber Group, has applied for Electronic Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) incentives to further support expansion.

India’s EMS sector is witnessing robust growth, driven by rising domestic demand, import substitution, and supply chain diversification. Electronics imports reached $8.4 billion in June 2025, second only to crude oil, while the EMS market is projected to reach $80 billion in the next five years. Structural tailwinds include energy transition, EV adoption, and a surge in lithium-ion battery demand, projected to grow 48% by 2030.

With its fundraise, ILJIN is well-positioned to capitalise on these trends, reduce India’s reliance on imports, and strengthen its footprint across consumer electronics, EVs, and clean energy, emerging as a key domestic EMS player.
