Signing a deal with Suzlon for 838 MW projects, Tata Power Renewable Energy advances wind development across India.
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has entered into an agreement with Suzlon Group for the supply of wind turbine generators with a total capacity of 838 megawatts. The equipment will be deployed across several projects in different states, due for completion over the next few years.
The collaboration adds to India’s broader effort to expand renewable power as the country works towards its target of 500 gigawatts of clean energy capacity by 2030. Wind energy remains a key element of this transition, with developers seeking to build projects that can provide reliable and cost-competitive electricity.
According to company data, TPREL has a wind portfolio of more than 3.9 GW, including around 1 GW already operational. Projects are spread across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
Suzlon, one of India’s largest wind turbine manufacturers, will deliver end-to-end solutions under the agreement, drawing on its experience in turbine supply and project services.
This is the third major collaboration between TPREL and Suzlon in over a decade, reflecting a continued working relationship between the two firms. Industry observers note that such partnerships are becoming increasingly common as developers seek scale and efficiency in renewable project development.
