Grinn Partners With MediaTek For Next-Gen Embedded Modules

From Wrocław to the world, Grinn’s tie-up with MediaTek unleashes miniature but mighty SOMs, fusing edge AI power with efficiency for next-generation IoT innovation.

Grinn has entered into a strategic partnership with MediaTek to accelerate the adoption of advanced AI (artificial intelligence) and IoT (Internet of Things) technologies. The collaboration follows the release of Grinn’s latest systems-on-module (SOMs), powered by MediaTek’s Genio processors.

The Polish technology company has introduced the GenioSOM-700 and GenioSOM-510, the smallest SOMs yet based on the MediaTek Genio platform. These modules are designed to handle complex compute workloads, real-time AI tasks, and multimedia applications, while maintaining low power consumption.

Grinn highlighted that through this partnership, it gains privileged access to MediaTek’s technical expertise, product roadmaps and supply-chain support. This advantage enables them to deliver custom embedded solutions faster and with greater efficiency.

CK Wang, General Manager of MediaTek’s IoT Business Group, highlighted the partnership’s potential: “The MediaTek Genio 700 makes it possible for Grinn to effectively address a diverse range of IoT applications and market segments.”

Robert Otręba, CEO of Grinn, emphasised customer benefits: “At Grinn, we are making the integration of edge AI into end products far less complex. Our modules combine high-performance computing with energy efficiency, enabling clients to move from prototype to production at speed.”

The Grinn GenioSOM-700 targets applications such as smart home devices, industrial automation and computer vision. Measuring only 37.0mm by 42.6mm, it integrates dual Arm Cortex-A78 cores, six Cortex-A55 cores, an Arm Mali-G57 GPU, and a 4 TOPS neural processing unit.

The GenioSOM-510, based on the MediaTek Genio 510, offers dual Cortex-A78 and four Cortex-A55 cores with built-in AI acceleration. Developers can also use the Grinn GenioEVB, a versatile evaluation board designed for seamless sensor and module integration.

The new SOMs and evaluation board are now available through Grinn’s website.
