Gujarat Government Announces Gujarat SemiConnect Conference 2026

With global semiconductor giants gathering in Gandhinagar on March 1-2, 2026, Gujarat SemiConnect 2026 is set to unveil infrastructure, partnerships, and policy vision set to redefine India’s self‑reliance journey.

Gujarat is set to showcase its ambition as India’s semiconductor powerhouse with the Gujarat SemiConnect Conference 2026, scheduled for 1–2 March at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar. The landmark event aims to accelerate India’s self-reliance in chip manufacturing, design, and advanced packaging, aligning with the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) and the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.

Driving India’s semiconductor future

Now in its third edition after successful runs in 2024 and 2025, SemiConnect has evolved into a credible, outcome-oriented forum uniting fabs, foundries, ATMP/OSAT units, EMS players, design houses, startups, academia, and investors. The 2026 edition will act as a catalyst for industrial capacity, technological competitiveness, and global partnerships.

Gujarat’s strategic edge

The State’s rise as a semiconductor hub rests on integrated industrial zones in Sanand and Dholera SIR (special investment region), designed for fabs, ATMP/OSAT (assembly, testing, marking, and packing/outsourced semiconductor assembly and test) units, EMS (electronic manufacturing services) players, and chip‑design ecosystems.

Infrastructure readiness includes fully serviced industrial land, reliable power, assured water supply, advanced wastewater treatment, and connectivity to national corridors and Mundra Port. This is reinforced by a proactive governance framework, featuring single-window clearances and a dedicated Semiconductor Mission that ensures time-bound approvals.

Policy and industry engagement

The conference will enable direct dialogue between Central and State leadership and global CXOs to harmonise policy frameworks, fiscal incentives, and regulatory regimes with industry roadmaps. Delegates will also gain exposure to advanced infrastructure in Sanand, Dholera SIR, and the GIFT International Financial Services Centre, which is emerging as a hub for diversified financing instruments for large-scale technology projects.

Programme highlights

  • Day 1 inaugural session: Will be led by Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Deputy CM Shri Harsh Sanghavi, and Gujarat’s Science & Technology Minister Shri Arjun Modhwadia.
  • Panel discussions: Will cover advanced semiconductor nodes, infrastructure development, financing models via GIFT‑IFSC, research collaboration, workforce skilling, and strengthening domestic printed-circuit board (PCB)/component manufacturing.
  • Day 2 roundtables: Dedicated sessions with Japan and Taiwan to explore technology transfer, investment opportunities, and long-term bilateral cooperation.

At the Gujarat SemiConnect 2025 last year, Chief Minister Shri Patel had noted, “In this era of modern development, it is impossible to imagine industrial progress without semiconductors. Gujarat is poised to play a pivotal role in the global demand‑supply chain.”

With this aim, the Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM) continues to drive this transformation, building a vibrant ecosystem spanning electronics, semiconductors, displays, design, and innovation.
