Looking ahead to smarter ACs, Voltas welcomes Prince Subroto Mani to lead RAC electronics R&D, signalling sharper focus on connected, efficient cooling technologies.
Voltas Ltd, a Tata Group company, has appointed Prince Subroto Mani as Head of Research and Development (R&D) for electronics in its room air conditioning (RAC) business. He will lead the company’s electronics R&D initiatives, focusing on product development, system design and engineering capabilities for RAC systems.
In this role, Mani is expected to drive the integration of advanced electronics into air conditioning platforms, with an emphasis on performance, reliability and connected technologies. His responsibilities include strengthening internal engineering processes and supporting the development of next-generation products in line with market and regulatory requirements.
Mani noted that the company has built “a legacy of innovation and trust in the cooling industry”, and that he aims to contribute by “strengthening electronics platforms, enabling smarter technologies, and building products that impact millions of homes”.
Mani joined Voltas from Havells India Ltd, where he served as Assistant General Manager and led electronics design and development for the Lloyd air-conditioner portfolio. His work covered the full product lifecycle, including system architecture, hardware-software integration, IoT module development, validation and compliance.
He also managed cross-functional teams and contributed to the development of premium AC product lines.

He added that he looks forward to collaborating with teams at Voltas to advance innovation in electronics and cooling technologies.
Earlier, he held roles at Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Co. Ltd, Blue Star Ltd, Hitachi Home & Life Solutions India, and Suvik Electronics, building experience in electronics development, embedded systems and quality management.
He holds a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Gujarat University.
