Emobi Deploys 100 Electric Scooters in Bengaluru with Battery-Swapping Ecosystem

The initiative aims to deliver high-range, high-speed electric mobility with lower ownership costs for logistics operators

Emobi Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd., an emerging electric two-wheeler manufacturer based in Karnataka, has deployed 100 AKX Kyari electric scooters in Bengaluru, marking a significant push toward scalable and cost-efficient last-mile mobility.

The deployment integrates advanced e-axle systems from Musashi India and battery-swapping services through the network of Honda Power Pack Energy India Pvt. Ltd. (HEID). The initiative aims to deliver high-range, high-speed electric mobility with lower ownership costs for logistics operators.

The scooters have been manufactured for Tekinverse, which leases them to rider-partners of Muvnw under a micro-fleet model. This approach is designed to create sustainable livelihood opportunities by combining lower operating costs with reliable vehicle availability, enabling riders to increase earnings while reducing reliance on fuel-based alternatives.

The AKX Kyari EV offers performance comparable to conventional 125cc internal combustion engine scooters. It delivers an IDC range of 106 km, a top speed of 80 km/h, and acceleration from 0 to 60 km/h in 12 seconds. Key features include a 3.7 kW peak motor, 1.5 kWh dual swappable battery packs, and a sync (combi) braking system for enhanced safety and control.

Bharath Rao, CEO and Co-Founder of Emobi, said the deployment represents a shift toward scalable micro-entrepreneurship by combining high-performance EV technology with reliable battery-swapping infrastructure and localized service support.

To ensure operational efficiency, Tekinverse and Muvnw are supporting fleet uptime through structured service-level agreements, trained maintenance personnel, and responsive roadside assistance. Emobi is also expanding its micro-factory and micro-fleet service model to other metro cities, starting with Delhi NCR, to support larger deployments and future product launches.

Naoya Nishimura, CEO of Musashi India and Africa Region, highlighted that the collaboration demonstrates the impact of localized innovation in electric mobility, particularly in delivering dependable and high-uptime EV solutions for last-mile logistics.

Tomohide Haraguchi, Vice President and CTO at Honda Power Pack Energy India, added that HEID’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model reduces charging downtime, lowers upfront vehicle costs, and eliminates concerns around battery replacement, enhancing efficiency for business operations.

The deployment of these 100 electric scooters marks a collaborative step toward building scalable and sustainable mobility solutions for India’s logistics sector, as battery-swapping networks and localized EV technologies continue to evolve.
