Developed over 50.3 acres at a cost of ₹46.09 crore, the EMC has received ₹20.24 crore support from the Government of India
Rajasthan marked its entry into the semiconductor sector with the virtual inauguration of the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) at Salarpur, Khushkhera, Bhiwadi, along with Sahasra Semiconductors’ ATMP/OSAT facility. The inauguration was led by Ashwini Vaishnaw in the presence of Bhajan Lal Sharma and Bhupender Yadav.
Calling it a historic moment for Rajasthan, Vaishnaw highlighted India’s rapid growth in electronics manufacturing, with production rising sixfold to nearly ₹13 lakh crore and exports reaching ₹4.24 lakh crore. He said mobile phones have become India’s top export commodity, driven by initiatives such as EMC, PLI, ECMS and the India Semiconductor Mission.
Developed over 50.3 acres at a cost of ₹46.09 crore, the EMC has received ₹20.24 crore support from the Government of India. The cluster has already attracted planned investments exceeding ₹1,200 crore from 20 companies, with 11 firms operational and employing over 2,700 people.
Meanwhile, Sahasra Semiconductors Pvt. Ltd. has launched commercial semiconductor chip production with an investment of over ₹150 crore. The facility currently packages 60 million units annually and plans to scale capacity to 400–600 million units within the next few years.
