LTEPS and EVR Motors Collaborate for EV Traction Motors in India

The traction motors are planned to be manufactured at LTEPS’s manufacturing facility in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu

L&T Electronic Products & Systems has recently collaborated with EVR Motors to jointly develop, manufacture and deploy next-generation EV traction motors for the Indian electric mobility market.

The partnership combines LTEPS’s engineering, systems integration and manufacturing capabilities with EVR Motors’ advanced electric propulsion technology to deliver high-efficiency traction motor solutions tailored for Indian operating conditions. The partnership also supports the Government of India’s Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives by promoting local manufacturing and technology development.

Under the agreement, the companies will work together to industrialise advanced traction motors featuring compact designs, improved efficiency and lower dependence on rare earth materials. The solutions will serve a wide range of vehicle segments, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles, helping OEMs address evolving performance, localisation and cost requirements.

The traction motors are planned to be manufactured at LTEPS’s manufacturing facility in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Along with indigenously designed Motor Control Units, the companies aim to offer complete EV drivetrain solutions for the domestic market.
