Intel-Backed Semiconductor Startup Syntiant Files to Go Public

Backed by Intel Capital, the edge AI chipmaker is seeking a Nasdaq listing as investor appetite for AI semiconductor companies continues to grow.

AI semiconductor company Syntiant Corp has filed for an initial public offering (IPO) in the United States as it looks to benefit from strong investor interest in artificial intelligence and computing technologies.

Founded in 2017, the California-based company develops low-power AI processors that enable machine learning to run directly on edge devices, reducing reliance on cloud computing. Its chips are used across consumer electronics, industrial equipment, automotive systems, wearables and wireless audio devices.

The IPO adds to a growing pipeline of AI-focused listings as improving market conditions and investor optimism revive the U.S. public offerings market. Industry estimates suggest equity issuance could exceed $260 billion this year.

Syntiant also expanded its hardware portfolio through the acquisition of Knowles Corp.’s consumer MEMS microphone business in December 2024, strengthening its presence in smartphones, earbuds and other connected devices.

For the quarter ended March 31, 2026, the company reported revenue of $64.5 million, compared with $66.6 million a year earlier. Net loss widened to $20.9 million from $14.1 million during the same period.

The company counts Intel Capital, Microsoft Global Finance, and Knowles Corp. among its investors.

Syntiant plans to list on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “SYTN.” The offering will be led by Citigroup, BofA Securities, UBS Investment Bank, and Needham & Company as joint underwriters.
