Cisco and IIT Delhi will work with government stakeholders to strengthen digital frameworks
Cisco and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) have recently announced a joint initiative by launching the Cisco Technology Hub for building skills, advancing research and strengthening India’s AI and cybersecurity ecosystem. The hub is dedicated to AI and Cybersecurity.
This partnership has been signed for three years, where Cisco will offer its technology expertise, whereas IIT Delhi’s academic and research capabilities will be leveraged to promote innovation, facilitate knowledge exchange, and develop a highly skilled digital workforce.
The Hub is intended to evolve into a leading centre for AI and cybersecurity research, innovation, and talent development in the Indo-Pacific region. The initiative will align with India’s digital transformation priorities and support efforts to secure critical infrastructure.
As part of the collaboration, Cisco and IIT Delhi will work with government stakeholders to strengthen digital frameworks and security standards, while co-developing solutions to address real-world challenges and improve the resilience of the country’s digital ecosystem.
Prof. Jayant Jain, Dean, Corporate Relations, IIT Delhi, said the collaboration reinforces the institute’s commitment to enabling knowledge exchange and co-creation with industry partners. He added that the initiative aims to foster innovation, develop future-ready talent, and contribute to strengthening India’s digital ecosystem.
Prof. Ashwini K. Agrawal, Dean (R&D), IIT Delhi, who was present at the MoU signing ceremony, said the partnership would strengthen the institute’s research in AI and cybersecurity and support India’s digital future.
Daisy Chittilapilly, President, Cisco India & South Asia, said collaboration among academia, industry, and government is essential to driving innovation in India. She added that the partnership with IIT Delhi will advance frontier AI research, develop secure solutions for real-world AI and cybersecurity challenges, and build a pipeline of next-generation talent.
The Technology Hub will focus on three key areas: research, talent development, and ecosystem engagement.
