Indium Corporation has opened a 1,230-square-meter manufacturing facility in Guadalajara, Mexico, strengthening regional solder production and supply for electronics manufacturers across the Americas.
Indium Corporation has opened a new manufacturing facility in Guadalajara, Mexico, to expand its production of materials used in electronics assembly and semiconductor packaging. The 1,230-square-meter site will manufacture solder paste, cored wire, and wave flux products for customers across the Americas and other global markets.
The facility will initially produce the company’s Indium8.9HF and Indium10.8HF solder paste series. At full capacity, the site is expected to manufacture about 18–20 metric tons of solder paste per month. The investment represents the first phase of Indium’s planned manufacturing expansion in Mexico, with additional capabilities expected as demand grows.
The new site combines manufacturing operations with customer service and technical support. Its location in Guadalajara places production closer to a major electronics manufacturing ecosystem, potentially helping customers shorten supply routes and improve access to locally produced assembly materials.
For electronics manufacturers, solder materials are critical to creating reliable electrical and mechanical connections between components and printed circuit boards. Consistent solder-paste quality can influence assembly yield, process stability, and the reliability of finished electronic products.
Indium said the Guadalajara facility incorporates advanced manufacturing and quality systems designed to improve manufacturing consistency and support faster product introductions. The additional regional capacity is also intended to strengthen the company’s global supply chain and provide greater flexibility in serving customers.
The expansion comes as demand for electronics manufacturing materials grows across several sectors, including artificial intelligence hardware, automotive electronics, electric vehicles, robotics, medical equipment, energy storage, and advanced semiconductor packaging.
Beyond increasing production capacity, the facility gives Indium a larger manufacturing and technical presence in Mexico. The company sees the country as an important electronics manufacturing hub in North America and plans to expand the Guadalajara operation as customer requirements increase.
The investment therefore extends beyond solder production, positioning Guadalajara as part of Indium’s broader manufacturing network for advanced electronics materials while bringing production and technical support closer to manufacturers in the Americas.
