Richardson Electronics provides engineered solutions, power grid and microwave tubes, power conversion components, and customised display solutions
Richardson Electronics will deliver 18 customised battery energy storage systems (BESS) for deployment across seven remote communities in Alaska, as the company expands its energy storage solutions for challenging environments.
The systems will provide a combined energy storage capacity of 7 MWh, with project completion expected by the end of 2027. Richardson Electronics said the multi-million-dollar programme is being developed in collaboration with technology partners.
Each battery storage system will be engineered to meet the specific energy requirements of the communities and operate reliably in Alaska’s extreme temperatures and harsh climate conditions. The systems are intended to improve energy resilience and strengthen the reliability of power infrastructure in remote areas.
“This project demonstrates Richardson Electronics’ ability to leverage our engineering expertise and technology partnerships to deliver innovative energy storage solutions for challenging applications,” said Greg Peloquin, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Power & Microwave Technologies and Green Energy Solutions groups.
