LeSol Group and China’s Hefei Pengpai Energy are partnering to localise EV battery management systems, targeting over one million units annually while building a broader domestic EV electronics portfolio.
LeSol Group has partnered with China-based Hefei Pengpai Energy Technology Co. Ltd to develop and localise battery management systems (BMS) for India’s electric vehicle market, marking a push to strengthen domestic EV electronics production and reduce dependence on imported BMS components.
The partnership will initially target electric two- and three-wheelers, combining Pengpai Energy’s BMS expertise with LeSol’s manufacturing, engineering, and execution capabilities. The companies will cover product development, technology transfer, technical training, system integration, testing, validation, firmware calibration, commissioning, field diagnostics, remote monitoring, and after-sales support.
LeSol is targeting 10% of India’s organised BMS market within three years, representing more than one million units annually. It also plans to expand its EV electronics portfolio into drivetrains, power electronics, vehicle control units, telematics, and sensors.
The BMS technology will monitor parameters such as state of charge (SoC) and state of health (SoH), helping improve battery safety, performance, reliability, and usable life under demanding operating and climatic conditions.
The initiative forms part of LeSol’s broader growth strategy, with the company targeting ₹3.5 billion revenue in FY27 and 75% year-on-year revenue growth. Its Usha Shriram and ReneSola distribution networks will support diagnostics, monitoring, and after-sales service across 100+ Indian cities.
LeSol MD and CEO Naman Shah positioned the partnership as supporting Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat, while Pengpai Energy Global Sales Head Chin Ngai Hon highlighted India’s requirements for cost, reliability, and battery performance.
