The facility also fulfils a long-standing vision of building a dedicated electronics manufacturing base in Karnataka.
GSAS Micro Systems Pvt. Ltd. has inaugurated a new manufacturing and expanded R&D facility in Doddaballapur, Bengaluru Rural, strengthening its in-house product development and manufacturing capabilities in Karnataka.
Located in the Doddaballapur 3rd Phase Industrial Area, the facility brings together product development, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, integration, quality testing, R&D and new-product development activities under one roof. It will serve as a hub for hardware manufacturing, system integration and customer-specific engineering programmes.
The expansion marks GSAS’s transition from embedded engineering and technology integration towards a deeper product-development and manufacturing footprint. According to the company, the facility also fulfils a long-standing vision of building a dedicated electronics manufacturing base in Karnataka.
Satya Gopalam, Chairman and Managing Director, GSAS Micro Systems, said the facility will provide the company with a dedicated space to take ideas from engineering and R&D into products and manufacturing.
The facility comes as Karnataka continues to strengthen its electronics and semiconductor ecosystem. The Karnataka Digital Economy Mission estimates that the state accounts for 10% of India’s electronics output, nearly 40% of electronic design output and more than 22% of national electronics exports. The state is also home to more than 100 fabless semiconductor design companies.
With the new facility, GSAS aims to expand its engineering infrastructure, increase in-house manufacturing capabilities and develop more products while supporting customer-specific programmes.
