Samsung Starts AI Data Centre Cooling Equipment Production In Pune

Samsung has started mass production of specialised AI data-centre cooling systems at its new Pune facility, adding India-made AHUs, FWUs, and CRAHs to its Asia-Pacific supply network.

Samsung Electronics has completed a new FläktGroup HVAC manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra, expanding its capacity to supply specialised cooling systems for AI data centres and other critical infrastructure in India and across Asia-Pacific.

The plant will manufacture air handling units (AHUs), fan wall units (FWUs), and computer air handlers (CRAHs). AHUs use chilled water for cooling while helping maintain air quality; FWUs use multiple high-capacity fans to remove heat from server environments; and CRAHs provide precise temperature, humidity, and air-quality management for IT equipment.

The facility spans approximately 13,826 square metres and moved from equipment installation to mass production in six months. FläktGroup plans to progressively increase production to up to 6,500 HVAC units annually.

Located near Mumbai and major logistics infrastructure, the Pune plant is positioned to supply customers across India and the Asia-Pacific region. It adds to FläktGroup’s existing manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, strengthening local production and customer responsiveness.

The Pune facility is the first new FläktGroup plant to become operational since Samsung completed its acquisition of the HVAC specialist in November 2025. The companies plan to combine FläktGroup’s HVAC and critical-cooling expertise with Samsung’s AI and technology capabilities to accelerate cooling solutions for AI data centres.

“The completion of the production line in Pune, India, marks a significant milestone in expanding our HVAC supply beyond India to the broader Asia-Pacific region,” said Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Appliance (DA) Business, Samsung Electronics.

“By combining Samsung’s AI and platform technologies with FläktGroup’s HVAC expertise, we will deliver exceptional value to a diverse range of customers, including AI data centres.”
