Kaynes Semicon will support startups with manufacturing expertise and industry exposure
Semiconductor Future Accelerator Lab (SFAL), a K-Tech Centre of Excellence for Fabless Semiconductors, has signed seven Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with organisations across India’s semiconductor and deep-tech ecosystem at SEMICON India 2026 in New Delhi.
The partnerships cover semiconductor research and design, manufacturing, electronic design automation (EDA), talent development, investment, technology commercialisation and startup support.
SFAL has partnered with IISc Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE), FourFront Ltd. (FFL), PeachTree Elevate, Aarayaa Advisory Services, Kaynes Semicon, WOWSEMI Foundation and Silvaco Inc. The MoUs were exchanged in the presence of Karnataka Commerce and Industries Minister MB Patil, Karnataka Minister for Home, Information Technology, Biotechnology and E-Governance Priyank Kharge, and members of the SFAL Board.
Kaynes Semicon will support startups with manufacturing expertise and industry exposure, helping them understand production requirements and prepare technologies for validation and commercialisation. FourFront will collaborate with SFAL on automotive electronics and semiconductor applications, including advanced power electronics, electric vehicle architectures and electromagnetic interference suppression systems.
Silvaco will contribute semiconductor design and EDA expertise, providing startups access to relevant design tools, technical knowledge and industry perspectives.
On the research and talent development side, the partnership with IISc CeNSE will connect startups and emerging professionals with expertise in nanoscience, nanoelectronics and semiconductor technologies. WOWSEMI Foundation will support community engagement, knowledge sharing and semiconductor-focused talent initiatives.
PeachTree Elevate will contribute startup mentoring, capability building and business guidance, including support for engineering talent entering high-technology domains. Aarayaa Advisory Services will support semiconductor startups in areas such as fundraising, financial planning, investor engagement and business development.
Speaking about the collaborations, Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge said partnerships between startups, research institutions, technology providers, manufacturers and investors would be important for building deeper capabilities across India’s semiconductor value chain. He also said SFAL 2.0 would focus on helping ideas move from research and design through validation, manufacturing and commercialisation.
The seven MoUs are intended to create a more connected pathway for semiconductor startups, bringing together research, chip design, EDA, manufacturing, talent, funding and market access. The collaborations aim to help emerging companies move their technologies from development and validation towards commercialisation and scale.
