Swiss automated optical inspection leader expands Indian footprint with a 65,000 sq ft manufacturing hub.
Swiss technology firm Delvitech has announced plans to establish a 65,000-square-foot manufacturing and technology facility in Bengaluru, marking a total planned investment of $25 million to $30 million (£19 million to £23 million). The initial $10 million phase is scheduled to become operational in the first quarter of 2027.
The Swiss specialist in AI-native Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems expects the site to create between 500 and 800 technical, engineering, and manufacturing jobs over the next five years. The announcement coincided with the productronica India 2026 trade show in Bengaluru, where Delvitech showcased its physical AI inspection platforms—including its Horus, Aton, and Horus Dual Lane systems—designed to improve quality control for printed circuit board (PCB) assembly.
The integrated facility will house precision machining, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) metrology, optical and electrical assembly, and software development under one roof. Beyond equipment manufacturing, the hub will feature a dedicated customer demonstration and R&D centre to shorten supply chain lead times and provide localized engineering support to regional original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and electronics manufacturing services (EMS) providers.
Roberto Gatti, Founder and Chief Executive of Delvitech SA, stated that India represents a primary strategic market, evolving from a manufacturing base into a hub for R&D and innovation. Vasanth Kumar, Head of Asia Operations at Delvitech, added that localising full-spectrum equipment integration will enable the company to maintain strict engineering tolerances while delivering faster technical support to India’s expanding electronics ecosystem.
