Strategic alliance aims to produce 1 million power units annually from the Puducherry facility starting October 2026.
Homegrown original design manufacturer (ODM) Plumage Solutions has joined forces with Shenzhen Huntkey Electric to localise, manufacture, and commercialise power products for the IT hardware and electronics market in India.
The partnership will focus on producing power adapters, power supply units (PSUs), and chargers, combining Huntkey’s technological expertise with Plumage’s domestic manufacturing network. Operations are scheduled to launch in October 2026 at a production facility in Puducherry, with an initial capacity of 1 million units per year.
The collaboration supports progressive supply chain localisation in line with India’s Make in India initiative and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme 2.0. By integrating product customisation, local engineering, and regional component sourcing, the partners aim to establish India as a competitive global export hub for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) clients.
Mukesh Gupta, Director at Plumage Solutions, noted that power electronics will be pivotal to India’s trajectory as a global electronics manufacturing hub. Concurrently, William Xu, Vice President at Huntkey, highlighted that pairing Huntkey’s power management technology with Plumage’s local execution will enable the joint venture to deliver scalable, high-reliability power solutions to domestic and international PC brands.
