The Board of Directors of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has approved the appointment of Dr Nikhil Agarwal as an Additional Director, designated as a Part-Time Non-Official (Independent) Director, for a period of three years.
According to a regulatory filing with the stock exchanges, Agarwal’s tenure will be effective from September 9, 2026, for three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The appointment is subject to approval by HAL’s shareholders at a General Meeting.
Agarwal is an innovation, startup, and policy expert. He holds an MPhil from the University of Cambridge and a PhD from the University of Edinburgh in the UK.
He currently serves as Managing Director of the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) at IIT Delhi. The organisation works on bridging academia and industry, technology transfer, startup support, research commercialisation, and industry partnerships.
Agarwal is also the founder of Entrepreneur Café, a global entrepreneurship platform operating across 110 cities and six continents, with a network of more than 45,000 entrepreneurs.
With over 20 years of professional experience, Agarwal has founded businesses and advised companies on strategic matters. His experience includes working with multinational companies such as Cadbury’s, FIC, and Zensar, part of the RPG Group.
