INOX India has secured its first orbital welding order at Tata Electronics’ Dholera semiconductor facility, signalling new opportunities for specialised Indian infrastructure suppliers supporting India’s chipmaking build-out.
INOX India has secured its first orbital welding order for work at Tata Electronics’ semiconductor facility in Dholera, Gujarat, marking its entry into specialised infrastructure work for India’s emerging chipmaking ecosystem.
The order, confirmed by Deepak Acharya, CEO, INOX India (INOXCVA), involves orbital welding for piping at the Dholera chip facility. Financial details have not been disclosed.
“This is the first order of its kind. We just received this order and we are bidding for many more projects which are coming in,” Acharya said on the sidelines of Semicon India 2026.
INOX India is also bidding for more projects linked to India’s semiconductor ecosystem. The development comes as semiconductor manufacturing infrastructure expands under Semicon 2.0, which has an outlay of ₹1.27 lakh crore and covers areas including specialty gases, chemicals, and equipment.
The order highlights how India’s semiconductor manufacturing build-out is creating opportunities beyond chipmakers and conventional semiconductor equipment suppliers. Specialised industrial infrastructure and process-support companies are also beginning to find business opportunities around new fabs.
For Tata Electronics’ Dholera facility, such orders point to a widening domestic supplier base supporting semiconductor manufacturing infrastructure, with companies from adjacent industrial sectors entering the fab ecosystem.
