Delta Electronics, NVIDIA Join Forces On Level 4 Autonomous Driving

Delta Electronics is combining its power electronics, EV powertrain and in-vehicle computing capabilities with NVIDIA Hyperion to develop Level 4 autonomous-driving systems and expand its automotive business.

Delta Electronics and NVIDIA have announced a collaboration to advance next-generation Level 4 autonomous-driving systems by combining automotive electronics and vehicle-computing capabilities with NVIDIA’s autonomous-driving platform.

The collaboration brings together Delta’s automotive energy management, electric-vehicle (xEV) powertrain, in-vehicle high-performance computing (HPC), and system-integration capabilities with NVIDIA Hyperion and the NVIDIA Halos safety system.

NVIDIA Hyperion is a reference sensor and compute platform for Level 4 autonomous vehicles and robotaxis. The platform combines dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor systems with NVIDIA Halos to support production-ready autonomous driving.

Delta will combine its automotive and system-integration expertise with Hyperion, supported by NVIDIA’s engineering team, to develop autonomous-driving solutions. The companies also plan to expand engagement with customers and partners and pursue new business opportunities across smart mobility.

“Autonomous driving requires years of technology development, continuous innovation, and strong system integration. Our commitment to the EV sector began several years ago, developing strong expertise in power electronics and key automotive technologies, and accumulating extensive development experience with world-class automakers,” said James Tang, Executive Vice President of Mobility Business Category at Delta.

“Level 4 autonomous driving requires powerful in-vehicle computing, a comprehensive sensor architecture and close collaboration across the automotive ecosystem,” said Rishi Dhall, Vice President of Automotive at NVIDIA.

The collaboration will focus on autonomous-driving technology, ecosystem development and market opportunities. Delta, founded in 1971 and listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange as 2308, operates across power and thermal management, data-centre infrastructure, smart manufacturing and e-mobility.
