Astute Group Appointed Franchised Distributor for Samwha Capacitor Group

Strategic agreement expands Astute’s passive and magnetic component line-card ahead of Electronica 2026 in Munich.

Astute Group has signed a global franchise distribution agreement with South Korea’s Samwha Capacitor Group, incorporating Samwha’s comprehensive range of capacitors, energy storage devices, ferrite products, inductors, and transformers into its authorised component portfolio.

The partnership establishes a direct, franchised supply route for design engineers and procurement teams across industrial, automotive, aerospace, and energy sectors. Samwha Capacitor Group operates across five affiliated companies, supported by 11 manufacturing facilities and 17 sales offices globally.

Under the agreement, Astute customers gain access to Samwha’s extensive passive line-card. This includes multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs)—featuring standard, soft termination, and open mode variants—alongside conductive polymer hybrid capacitors, snubber units, and electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) for energy storage and backup applications. The range also encompasses power-factor correction capacitors, EMI suppression components, and custom transformer architectures.

Commenting on the commercial agreement, Jon Sypula, Supplier Business Manager at Astute Group, stated: “Adding Samwha gives Astute another broad passive component portfolio to support design and sourcing decisions. The range across capacitors, energy storage and magnetic components means customers can address several parts of a design through one authorised distribution relationship, with product and technical requirements assessed on an individual basis.”

Both companies are set to showcase the unified franchise offering at Electronica 2026 in Munich from 10 to 13 November, where technical teams will demonstrate Samwha’s power and passive solutions alongside Astute’s wider supply chain management services.
